Durand Jones & The Indications Drop Dreamy New Single “Lovers’ Holiday”
Durand Jones & The Indications are back again with another smooth stunner. Their new single “Lovers’ Holiday” is the latest preview from Flowers, out June 27 on Dead Oceans, and it’s a total mood. Sun-soaked and velvet-lined, the track plays like a postcard from a blissful escape—part slow-disco shimmer, part candlelit soul. It’s the kind of jam that begs to be played with the windows down and someone special riding shotgun.
“We didn’t set any rules,” the band says. “We just wanted to give the lovers something to float away with.” Mission accomplished. The video follows suit, featuring the group posted up against jaw-dropping coastal views and lush hillsides, shot by Andy Woodward and Kimo Kennedy, with slick editing by Rena Johnson.
Following their throwback funk groove “Been So Long” and the glittery “Flower Moon” (which Billboard called one of their “most irresistible dancefloor tracks yet”), “Lovers’ Holiday” shows off the softer, glowing core of Flowers. Recorded together in guitarist Blake Rhein’s Chicago studio, the album was shaped live and loose, full of first-take energy and that easy chemistry the trio—Durand Jones, Aaron Frazer, and Blake Rhein—have fine-tuned since their early Bloomington basement days.
Now older, wiser, and more sure of themselves, the band uses Flowers to reflect on growth and connection. “These songs dig into real things we hadn’t touched on before,” says Jones. “We’ve lived a lot since that first record.” Frazer adds, “There’s still that spirit of fun, but we’ve added some scars and lessons along the way.”
The Indications just wrapped a buzzy European run (including opening for Lenny Kravitz), and they’ve got a huge North American tour kicking off this fall—with more EU/UK dates announced for 2026. Catch the groove while it’s blooming.
