Trans Charger Metropolis
Haunted House Birds
Self-Released [2015]
Fire Drill Album Review: Trans Charger Metropolis lists their interests as “Drinking Beer and Recording tunes.” Sound familiar? Well after hearing just a small sample of this New Jersey group you can tell they have some lo-fi Guided By Voices blood in their veins as the sophomore album Haunted House Birds rocks, swags and rolls during its tight 16 song package. You will also hear an indie rock edge to their music that melds a Times New Viking and Thermals sound which keeps pushing Haunted House Birds forward. If you like your raw indie rock there is no question that this is a record you should discover, as singing along with the catchy “Little Kings” is mandatory and the 1:25 “Witchy Chicks” will have you locking the doors and looking under the bed so they don’t catch you either!
