Fire Drill Album Review: There is nothing better than when you stumble across an artist that was only supposed to be a one-time recording project but releases material that quickly changes things. That is exactly what we have here with Indianapolis’ S.M. Wolf after a bedroom recorded cassette grabbed folks’ attention and has led to the release of their debut album Neon Debris. The record has the strength and jangle that is comparable to Built To Spill, Elf Power and another Indiana band – Sleeping Bag, with its big background guitars and the somewhat nasally vocals from Adam Gross. The end result is a high powered indie record that sounds super familiar and is driven from its energizing spirit. What will really catch your ear is how easy S.M. Wolf can surround you with high end treble noise before dropping everything and letting Gross show you the way out. They are definitely a new indie guitar band to put on your radar.
