Sometimes all you need is a catchy band name and I am in before the music even starts playing. That was the case for Brooklyn’s Surf Rock Is Dead. The duo of Kevin Pariso and Joel Witenberg, hailing from Chicago and Melbourne, respectively, met in New York City. After just jamming for a bit the band quickly fell into place and now on September 18th their debut EP is set to release.
What I like about “Anymore” is the reverb layered vocals and nods to the Cure while Surf Rock Is Dead ride modern new wave like they have been doing it for years. This is a band that easily fits in with groups like EZTV and DIIV. “Anymore” is a restful track for another great Friday!
