Today’s Fire Track, “New Hobbies,” is from Brooklyn band Fort Lean which will see their debut album, Quiet Day, release June 23 via Ooh La La Records. The single has a delivery strength of a Gaslight Anthem but if you dive deeper into the new full length (which you can hear at their website) you will find Fort Lean fitting in more with bands like MGMT, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Tame Impala.
“New Hobbies” is only a small sample of what the band has to offer, as it runs a mere 1:47, but it for sure is an anathematic stand up track that showcases another of Fort Lean. Honestly, I have a hard time turning down a melodic guitar rocker like this with its large pounding drums. Check it out for yourself below and look for more from Fort Lean next month!
