The Friday Fire Track: DTCV – “L.A. Boum!”

Here is a band that has been on our radar for some time as member James Greer has career ties to Guided By Voices. DTCV (pronounced Detective) is his group with French musician Lola G and they have been releasing music since 2012.

DTCV has a new album coming out April 8th on Xemu/Lolipop titled Confusion Moderne and today’s Friday Fire Track, “L.A. Boum!,” is a great preview of what is to come. The key thing about DTCV is to not get caught up in the French pop tags you might see, as the swirling rock out guitar of “L.A. Boum!” will quickly turn your head.

The track has a sense of urgency with its high energy and punk like vocals from Lola G, which makes me want to hear more. The group also is sure to put on a great live show behind these tracks and you can find them out on the road in April at the dates below!
