Fire Track: Parlor Greens – “Eat Your Greens”

| |

Green, Mean, and Deep in the Groove

Parlor Greens are back with a fresh burner. The soul soaked organ trio just dropped a new video for “Eat Your Greens,” the lead single from their upcoming album Emeralds, out March 27 via Colemine Records. If you’ve been craving tight rhythms, grease heavy grooves, and musicians who play like they trust each other completely, this one hits immediately.

Built around a driving four on the floor pulse, “Eat Your Greens” moves with purpose. Adam Scone’s organ locks in hard, Jimmy James slices through with guitar lines that feel both sharp and playful, and Tim Carman pushes it all forward with drums that never overthink the pocket. It’s lean, lively, and impossible to ignore once it gets rolling.

Emeralds finds the trio sounding more settled and more adventurous at the same time. Where their debut In Green We Dream announced their arrival, this record feels like a group fully owning the space they’ve created. Across the album, Parlor Greens stretch into early R&B grit, gospel touches, and jazz informed swing without ever losing that straight to the soul feel. Everything sounds lived in, road tested, and confident.

There’s also real weight behind these sessions. Recorded again at Colemine’s Portage Lounge, Emeralds came together during a period of personal loss for all three members. That context brings an added sense of warmth and intention to the music, especially on the album closer “Queen Of My Heart,” a deeply felt tribute written by Jimmy James for his late mother. It’s a quiet reminder that instrumental music can still say plenty without words.

You can pre order Emeralds now HERE via Colemine Records and get ready for one of the most rewarding organ trio records of the year.
