Fire Track: Foo Fighters – “Your Favorite Toy”

Foo Fighters Just Threw Down the Gauntlet — And It’s Called Your Favorite Toy

Foo Fighters are back and they brought something sharp with them.

“Your Favorite Toy,” the lead single off their upcoming 12th studio album Your Favorite Toy, dropped yesterday and it hits different. We’re talking jagged guitar work, creepy keyboard stabs, and a driving rhythmic backbone that doesn’t let up. Dave Grohl sounds almost gleefully menacing on the chorus — there’s a sardonic edge to his delivery that feels genuinely fresh for the band.

Dave put it pretty plainly: the song was the spark that set the whole record in motion. After more than a year of messing around with different sounds and dynamics, “Your Favorite Toy” was the moment everything clicked and pointed the way forward.

The full album, also titled Your Favorite Toy, releases on April 24th via Roswell/RCA Records. Recorded at home and co-produced alongside Oliver Roman, the record was mixed by the legendary Mark “Spike” Stent and features ten tracks including last year’s fiery “Asking For A Friend.”

Full tracklist: Caught In The Echo / Of All People / Window / Your Favorite Toy / If You Only Knew / Spit Shine / Unconditional / Child Actor / Amen, Caveman / Asking For A Friend
