The Friday Fire Track: Melkbelly – “Middle Of”

| | , ,

Chicago’s Melkbelly has already been getting some hype from being on several “bands to watch” lists and the honor of having the inaugural release on Wax Nine Records, a sister label to Carpark Records headed by Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz. With comparisons like The Breeders meet Lightning Bolt this band immediately grabbed our attention.

Today’s Friday Fire Track, “Middle Of,” gives you a good slice of why Melkbelly has had some attention with its controlled chaos approach that just never stops revving. Especially as you near the end of the song as Melkbelly just grind their instruments and wow you with their rhythmic groove. The album is due out October 13th so there is plenty of time to get behind this release and of course – enjoy your Friday!
