Fire Drill Album Review: So many times bands really screw with their sound following up their debut record. Hence the sophomore slump is a real thing but a true life lesson is knowing that less is sometimes more. For Sydney’s Royal Headache – they get it. High builds on their soulful punk rock with just small tweaks. This incremental growth is the backbone behind High’s success. Ten songs, 29 minutes, slightly cleaned up production, emphasis on fuller sounding instruments, and plenty of catchy choruses to fill your head. Think Reigning Sound meets Ocean Colour Scene with a little classic Undertones and you get a memorable Royal Headache.
